Our friends over at Noiseless Chatter were given the distinct opportunity to show the remastered Manos: The Hands Of Fate. So, first off, I would like to link the event:
If you are a Mystery Science Theater 3000 fan,you have heard of the movie Manos: The Hands of Fate. This movie is pretty bad. So why do people watch it you ask? They usually watch it because others force them to or someone is making fun of it (which is my favorite). This event is the former. We are being forced! However it is all for art, as our buddies over at the Chatter say,
“Is it really the worst movie ever made? Or can we, together, find something of artistic merit in the adventures of Torgo and The Master?”
I hope that we can sit through the full movie, but I am also a masochist so I will probably be just fine.
Some of my friends in college said that this film has been used as a poster child of what types of things not to do in a movie. From basic cinematography to how to write a story, many a friend has learned valuable lessons from watching and discussing this film. So at the very least if you are an aspiring film student, critic, connoisseur or just want to be able to say something about film this is a great opportunity to see what not to do.
For all the actual fans out there. I hope this is just another great excuse to watch a film we all love to hate. If enough of us show up we make be able to make it like a Rocky Horror Picture Show kind of thing. Shouting out things and pissing off all the actual movie goers off. Just kidding Phillip…..or am I…
You should all just plan on showing up of else the Master will be angry.
