Over the next few months (possibly longer) a friend of mine and I will be participating in a light activity to get more depth out of our board game collections. This activity is called a 10 x 10, in which ten games are chosen to played ten times in a row. With the amount of new games we buy and the mount of time we have to play, we are sometimes not able to get the most out of a game. A 10 x 10 will help us see how fun the games on the list actually are and also help us develop a good understanding of the game play.
We started by each selecting lists of 10 games and recording the overlap, then we took all the overlaps and choose personal favorites to fill out the rest of the games. Our final list is the following games:
- Lord of The Rings: The Card Game
- Terra Mystica
- Twilight Struggle
- Level 7: Omega Protocol
- Pathfinder Adventure Card Game: Rise of The Ruin Lords
- Alien Frontiers
- Mage Knight
We have decided to play each game 10 times in a row before moving to the next game. this stems from the fact that our gaming group is larger than the max amount of people that some of these games allow. We are not limiting our selves to only play the current game we are on. However if we ever play the same game together we will be playing the current game on the list.
I will be writing a game corner article for each game we play. While the order of the list above is not final, we have been playing them in order so far. We just finished the 10 plays of Lord of The Rings: The Card Game and a Game Corner will be written on it shortly.
If you feel like commenting or asking we chose certain games for the first season of out 10 x 10 please ask! Wish us luck and ill see you all again soon.
